Mary, the mother of Jesus, declared:
“My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”
Luke 1:46-47

Each of us has a portion of the light of Christ within our souls.
The apostle John wrote:
That (Jesus Christ) was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
John 1:9

Jesus himself taught:
I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:12

Let us magnify the light of Christ that is within us, through our thoughts, words, and deeds.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

Wherefore, I beseech of you, brethren, that ye should search diligently in the light of Christ that ye may know good from evil; and if ye will lay hold upon every good thing, and condemn it not, ye certainly will be a child of Christ.
Moroni 7:19

Let us also learn to recognize that light in others.
Even those who hurt us may still have a spark of Christ within them, even though that spark may be very dim.
Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who died from typhus in a German concentration camp in World War II.
She wrote in her diary “I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.”
She also wrote:
“I’ve found that there is always some beauty left — in nature, sunshine, freedom, in yourself; these can help you. Look at these things, then find yourself again, and God, and then you regain your balance.”
“And whoever is happy will make others happy too. He who has courage and faith will never perish in misery!”
May the Lord bless you,
